Position: Accountant
Location: Houston, Texas

Job Summary:
This position is accountable for all daily accounting operations of Subsea Technology & Rentals Inc. (STR) including accounts receivable and accounts payable, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, maintenance of internal controls, monitoring of cash management, preparation of annual budgets and assurance of compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements. STR is looking for an individual with experience within an offshore service company.

Summary Specific to Job:

  • Oversee all financial accounting in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Issue timely and complete STR Inc. financial statements.
  • Assist in coordinating the provision of information to external CPA for tax return preparation.
  • Assist with maintaining internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Process expense reimbursements for STR employees for approval by Vice President.
  • Process vendor payments for approval by Vice President.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President and Hire Administration team on customer invoicing.
  • Follow up on past due customer accounts.
  • Assist in managing the production of STR Inc. annual budget and forecast.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts with various subsidiaries.
  • Preparation of monthly sales tax reporting.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the Vice President of the Americas.


  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Office365.
  • Aptitude for working with cloud-based accounting software.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in all facets of daily accounting transactions.
